Abstract
Penile traction therapy (PTT) is a common therapeutic option for men with Peyronie’s disease (PD). PTT has been shown, in limited studies, to improve penile length, reduce curvature and increase patient satisfaction. PTT is associated with minimal complications. The main side effect can be patient discomfort or penile paresthesia.. We report a rare complication of penile traction therapy of severe pubic bone edema (on MRI), likely secondary to excessive tensile force on the penis over an abundance of days and hours of patient use the device. We aim to highlight a rare complication of PTT. The patient’s demographics, MRI and past medical and surgical history were obtained from our electronic record system and patient interview. Electronic search involved unrestricted, fully explored medical subject headings using the terms related to PTT and complications was performed the PubMed database (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez) of the US National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
