Linux device driver for Radial Neutron Camera in view of ITER long pulses with variable data throughput

•The presented architecture is scalable, taking advantage of the data transmission information to transfer data blocks.•The device driver automatically checks and recover missing data blocks in a transparent way for the host applications.•The tests show a stable solution up to 60 minutes acquisitions with rates up to 1.5 GB/s and variable data throughput.•The architecture also supports the acquis ion from two boards simultaneously on same host.
