Abstract
This paper introduces a simple yet viable BiCMOS Current Controlled Current Conveyor (CCCII) circuit. The proposed CCCII response exhibits the desirable characteristics of high-frequency and low-voltage operation while maintaining the simplicity of design which is vital in modern low-power and high bandwidth integrated-circuit applications. In this paper, the operational characteristics are investigated. The DC biasing current of the proposed circuit is 300 µA, and the power supply is ±2.5 V. The power consumption of the CCCII is 4.86 mW. The proposed circuit has promising potential for high-frequency operations in both voltage mode and current mode. The 3-dB voltage gain bandwidth is 4.12 GHz with a phase shift between the input and output is zero degrees up to 10 MHz. The observed maximum phase shift is less than 15 degrees around 2.5 GHz. The 3-dB current gain bandwidth is almost 14 GHz. The phase response of the current gain response is zero degrees for up to around 200 MHz. An example of the RF high-frequency Oscillator application is implemented to validate the proposed circuit. All Circuits are designed and simulated using 0.8 µm BiCMOS process technology.
