Airflow dynamics, vegetation and aeolian erosive processes in a shadow zone leeward of a resort in an arid transgressive dune system

•This research analyzes aeolian processes in an aeolian shadow induced by resorts.•The aeolian shadow is studied locally through wind, vegetation and topography data.•The regional wind direction influences the degree of wind speed change.•The erosive processes are affected by the distance to the resort and the topography.•Where erosive processes are not detected is related to the vegetation role.
