Gray-scale, Doppler and contrast-enhanced ultrasound in pancreatic allograft surveillance: A systematic literature review

•Sonography is extensively used in the post-pancreatic transplant period thanks to its versatility.•A PubMed database search identified twenty-nine articles for a literature review.•Results show a high accuracy of US, Doppler and CEUS in the detection of early abnormalities after pancreas transplant, in particular regarding vascular complications.•CEUS seems to be the most promising technique not only in the field of thrombosis but also for providing some data about rejection and endocrine function.
