Abstract
•Anchoring nature and spatial distribution of ReOx on zeolite supports were studied.•Effects of zeolite support acidity and mesoporosity on ReOx were examined.•ReOx species anchored predominantly on Brønsted acid sites enclosed in micropores.•Decrease in acidity transited the anchoring of ReOx onto silanol (Si-OH) groups.•Increase in mesoporosity migrated ReOx onto external acid sites and Si-OH groups.
