摘要

•Silica binder is converted into zeolitic shell by re-crystallization.•Shaped core-shell structured binder-free ZSM-5 catalyst is prepared.•It has more micro-pores and weaker acidity than shaped zeolite with a binder.•It shows obviously better selectivity and stability in EB production.•Formation of xylene, a critical by-product, is greatly suppressed.
