•The sensor is based on mac-bending theory which was hardly used in tilt measuring.•The sensitive is very high, and it could be improved by a special method.•Measurement range is from 90° to −90°, which means measurement range is large.•The structure is simple which may lead to low cost.•Temperature influence is small.
