Colloidal deposition on polymer-brush-coated NF membranes

•NF membranes modified by temperature- and salinity-responsive polymer brush layer.•Temperature-sensitive permeance of modified membrane attributed to chain collapse.•Observed particle deposition is significantly reduced in the presence of polymer brush.•Deposition was mostly irreversible, particularly the unmodified membrane.
