摘要
Background: After resection of colorectal liver metastases (CRLM), over two thirds of patients face disease recurrence. Histopathological growth patterns (HGP) have been identified as a novel postoperative biomarker to predict prognosis in patients with CRLM. The desmoplastic HGP (dHGP) is associated with superior prognosis and lower recurrence rates compared to the non-desmoplastic HGP (non-dHGP). The current study evaluates if HGPs might also be used to preoperatively predict the efficacy of treatment for recurrent disease after primary resection of CRLM.
