Abstract
•UHPLC–HRMS fingerprints enabled green tea classification according to their origin.•Green teas from China, Japan & South Korea could be recognized based on their metabolome.•Supervised statistical models showed excellent recognition and prediction ability.•Phospholipids, esters of phenolic acids and catechins were the most important markers of geographic origin of green teas.
