MerTK-mediated cytokine secretion mediates a cross-talk between M2c macrophages and hepatic stellate cells (HSC) to induce fibrosis
Digestive and Liver Disease(2019)
摘要
Background and aims: Among the main events initiating the fibrogenic process is the recruitment of inflammatory cells such as monocytes and macrophages, besides the activation of resident macrophages (Kupffer cells). These cells release several soluble mediators which induce the activation of various cells, including hepatic stellate cells (HSCs). MerTK (Myeloid-epithelial-reproductive Tyrosine Kinase) is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the TAM subfamily of receptors and it is mainly expressed in M2c macrophages. In this study we evaluated a potential involvement of MerTK in the cross-talk between HSCs and M2c macrophages.
