True phosphorus digestibility and total endogenous phosphorus losses associated with canola meal for brown laying hens 17 and 32 weeks old

•There was a trend toward 40.6% greater true digestibility of P from canola meal in older laying hens.•Total endogenous losses were −493 mg/kg of dry matter intake and −344 mg/kg of dry matter intake in rearing and laying phases.•The results indicate that endogenous P outputs decreases as the hen ages.•The regression method can be used to estimate true digestibility of P and endogenous losses in laying hens.
