•V2G technologies can replace conventional units for primary frequency control (PFC).•Power system stability simulation studies are carried out with high V2G share.•Recommendations are needed for a stable deployment of V2G fleets as PFC providers.•Recommendations are in terms of amount of PFC from V2G and response time.
