Abstract
In this paper, we study particles with metallic core (magnesium) - metal shell (nickel) structure, synthesized in metal-containing plasma of high frequency arc discharge. X-ray diffraction analysis, X-ray fluorescence analysis and scanning electron microscopy show that the particles have a uniform nickel shell, which is also indirectly confirmed by comparing the results of hydrogenation of Mg and Mg@Ni particles. Measurement of volume magnetization indicates that shell thickness of most particles is not more than 22 nm.
