Abstract
Selective Protection is of great significance for the reliability and safety of the shipboard power system. However, there is no suitable guide and design method for the protection configuration in hybrid AC/DC shipboard power system. To solve the problem, this paper proposed a selective protection configuration strategy for hybrid AC/DC shipboard power system. Fist, the calculation methods of short circuit current in both DC and AC side are researched. Then the selective protection design method and setting criteria for protection devices are proposed. Secondly, the simulation model of the primary equipment and the control strategy are given. Finally, a case study is conducted. By the comparison of the results between the simulation and calculation, the correctness and validity of the calculation method for short-circuit current has been proved. Then the selective protection design and coordination analysis for the shipboard are provided based on the proposed design principle.
