Converter Overvoltage Protection For Dc-Grids

Overvoltage protection for commercial and household installations with AC is well known and the market provides a multitude of suitable devices. However, in DC-grids, different structures, sources and loads are present, so new solutions are necessary. This paper aims to provide guidelines for overvoltage protection of converters in typical modern DCgrids and give insight into the elements that influence circuit behavior in such installations.
