Non-lethal monitoring of longicorn beetle communities using generic pheromone lures and occupancy models
Ecological Indicators(2019)
Abstract
•We developed a cost-efficient, non-lethal methodology to monitor longicorn beetles.•We identified a diverse longicorn community containing both common and rare species.•Bayesian models allowed for estimating occupancy of rare and low detection species.•Overall, 39 species (95%CI = 30–57 species) were predicted to occur in the study area.•Tree density, deadwood and canopy predicted beetle abundance, diversity and occupancy.
