Abstract
The social and economic developments of a region depend on the water availability in amount and with physical, chemical and biological characteristics proper to comply with multiple uses. However, the urban, industrial and agricultural expansions have been causing negative environmental impacts on the river basins. The microregion of the south-west of Goias state presents an increasing population, several companies installed and it's a highlight in the production of soy, corn, poultry and swine. This "development", without management and proper environmental planning, has caused environmental damages to the water resources of the region. Therefore, the objective of this paper was to analyze the thropic state of the river basin of the River Aboboras, an important source of water for the development of the region. The study of the trophic state was performed from the Trophic State Index for total phosphorus. The thropic state levtabeels vary from mesotrophic to hypereutrophic, due to the anthropic actions inside the river basin. Actions need to be engaged in the studied area, aiming to reduce de thropic state index, improving the quality of water and life.
