Abstract
With more and more distributed photovoltaics connected to the rural distribution network, voltage problems appear because of the dual volatility of the photovoltaic and the load. Static var generator is considered prior to other reactive power compensation devices due to its excellent reactive power regulation performance in voltage regulation. The voltage regulation principle of static var generator is firstly analyzed. N ext, the voltage problems are analyzed and summarized under the situation that the penetration of photovoltaic has already reached a high level. Take the startup of the air source heat pump as an illustration. After that, a control strategy for static var generator is proposed and it can be divided into four modes: the mode of load, the mode of photovoltaic, the mode of air source heat pump and the mode of reduction in power loss. Then some indexes of voltage regulation are proposed to check the effectiveness of the strategy. They are voltage improvement indicator, virtual increase of photovoltaic, energy loss reduction rate and air source heat pump optimization rate. Finally, the simulation results show that the presented control method regulates the voltage greatly, alleviates the voltage dip well, reduces the network energy loss slightly, and helps to continue to install a certain capacity of photovoltaic in the future.
