Testing the vertical and cyber-physical integration of cognitive robots in manufacturing

•Summary of the design of the experiments. This includes a brief discussion of our analysis of the existing kitting processes at PSA Peugeot Citroën and the formulation of storyboards that mimic typical situations that can arise in this environment.•We provide an account of our testing methodology, including the requirements for our experimental tests.•We describe, discuss and interpret the project’s experimental results.•We summarize our conclusions and lessons learned.
