Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging is beneficial after suspicion of prostate cancer is noted, even for biopsy-naïve men and before repeat biopsies. Unnecessary biopsies can be avoided and more aggressive tumours detected. However, these benefits are negligible for men with a very high risk of aggressive tumours.
