205 Mb/S Led-Based Underwater Optical Communication Employing Ofdm Modulation

摘要
In this paper, we present LED-based underwater optical communication in shallow water. We designed an underwater optical communication system, fabricated an underwater testing platform, and conducted experiments in Yehliu Harbor in Northern Taiwan. Using spectral-efficient orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation with bit-loading algorithm, we have achieved data rates of 158 Mb/s in daytime and those of 205 Mb/s in nighttime through a transmission distance of 10 m at a depth of 3 m.
