Pilot projects on Battery Energy Storage Systems in the Transmission grid: regulatory framework and first results

The paper describes the legislative and regulatory framework underlying the experimental pilot projects carried out by the Italian TSO TERNA concerning Battery Energy Storage Systems for both energy and power intensive applications. Moreover, the first results of the experimentation are reported and discussed.
