Prenylflavanones isolated from Sophora flavescens

•Two new prenylflavanones, sophoraflavanones M (1) and N (2), were isolated from the roots of Sophora flavescens.•The structures of compounds 1 and 2 were determined by extensive NMR techniques and CD spectra.•Compound 5 exhibited moderate anti-influenza virus activity, with EC50 value of 43.9 μM.
