摘要
Background: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of local therapy for patients with oligometastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods: We retrospectively reviewed data of patients who were started systemic chemotherapy at our institute with clinical stage IV NSCLC between January 2010 and December 2017. One to five metastatic or recurrent lesions that can be treated by local therapy (surgery or radiotherapy) were defined as oligometastasis. We excluded patients with N2 or N3 disease. Results: We identified 42 patients with oligometastatic NSCLC. Eighteen patients were postoperative recurrence. Local therapy was conducted for 22 patients. Patients who were treated by systemic chemotherapy with local therapy had longer PFS and OS than patients who were treated by systemic chemotherapy without local therapy (29.0 vs 6.9 months, p = 0.04, 65.2 vs 33.3 months, p = 0.08, respectively). Conclusions: Local therapy combined with systemic chemotherapy can be a treatment option for patients with oligometastatic NSCLC. Legal entity responsible for the study: Yuki Sato.
