Abstract
We propose a NL-MLSE scheme using a third-order Volterra filter that estimates channel non-linearities to improve bandwidth-limitation and chromatic-dispersion tolerances. NL-MLSE with three memories achieves 192-Gb/s PAM-4 transmission with 96-Gsample/s DAC under a 22-GHz bandwidth limitation and 19-ps/nm chromatic dispersion.
