摘要
Introduction: Over 10% of patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) develop worsening chronic HF (WCHF). No therapy is indicated for WCHF patients. This study informs on the treatment patterns of patients with WCHF. Methods: US patients with incident HFrEF from Jan 2011 to Dec 2014 were identified from the PINNACLE Registry (a National Cardiovascular Data Registry) linked to claims databases. WCHF was identified thru Jun 2016, as stable HFrEF (treatment for 30 days and 90 days free from urgent HF care) progressing to worsening symptoms requiring hospitalization and/or intravenous diuretic therapy. Treatment post-WCHF included the 1st HF Rx filled in 180 days after WCHF onset and other HF Rx classes with overlapping days supply. Treatment at 6 and 12 months was evaluated based on days supply available at 150-210 days and 330-390 days post-onset, respectively. Results: Of patients with incident HFrEF, 20% (n=1421) developed WCHF (mean onset age of 69.9, 62% male, 15% African America...
