摘要
Background: Recent research has shown patients experience long term complications related to laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (LAGB) including but not limited to: suboptimal weight loss, significant food intolerances or maladaptive eating behaviors, vomiting, reflux, lap band slip and lap band erosion. Introduction: The Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Surgical Weight Loss Program (SWL) has placed 896 lap bands between 2003 and 2014. Significant loss to follow-up has been noted with postop LAGB patients. This quality improvement project was developed to communicate negative outcomes from LAGB surgeries and to recapture patients.
