Prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders (back, neck and shoulders’ pain) among dental personnel in Jeddah – Saudi Arabia

Background Musculoskeletal disorders MSDs pain is a major health problem for dental personnel and it has a bad effect on life and works quality of dental Personnel Aim and Objectives This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of neck lower back and shoulder pain and its associated risk factors in Jeddah Saudi Arabia Methods A cross sectional study was conducted including dental personnel the participants answered the questionnaire electronically the questionnaire consist of main parts demographic questions questions about organizing the work and questions about working conditions Results the majority of the respondents were dentists and were females The most prevalent MSD during the previous months was reported at the neck n lower back n and then shoulders n of the dental personnel does their work while sitting down always do daily exercises and exercise sometimes of personnel had sought medication for MSD pain during the previous months Conclusion There was a high prevalence of MSDs neck lower back and shoulder pain among dental personnel in Jeddah Saudi Arabia
