Abstract
Background: Vertical banded gastroplasty (VBG) is a historic bariatric procedure. Even though the procedure is no longer done nowadays, it is imperative for bariatric surgeons to have ample knowledge of the anatomy after the procedure, the potential complications and subsequently the operative treatment options, as the failure from this procedure can be as high as 70%.
