Abstract
A 43-year-old male presented to our hospital with weight loss, chronic nausea and vomiting. Endoscopy and imaging studies showed severe duodenal stenosis. And histologic examination by endoscopic duodenal biopsy was high grade dysplasia. We performed pancreaticoduodenectomy. The final diagnosis was heterotropic pancreatic cancer in the second duodenum by immunohistochemical staining. The patient was discharged on postoperative day 15. Ectopic pancreas is commonly an incidental finding at surgery or autopsy and has been frequently reported in the gastrointestinal tract, especially in the stomach. However, malignancy of ectopic pancreas in the duodenum is a very rare disease. We describe an ectopic pancreatic cancer in the second portion of duodenum with managed successfully.
