Beobachtungen zur Linearität der Schädigungsakkumulation im Holzbau

Based on fatigue tests on cross-laminated timber under in-plane shear loading the damage accumulation behaviour is observed. For this purpose, the accumulated deformation is taken as an indication of the accumulated damage. It is shown that the popular assumption of a linear damage accumulation is on the safe side for most of the fatigue life under invariable loading conditions (such as amplitude and maximum load). For small load cycle numbers, though, a critical spectrum is identified, where the safe application of a linear damage accumulation theory is questionable and needs further investigation.
