摘要

•β-SiC NWs were synthesized by a simple, catalyst-free CVD technique.•The novel synthesis method is green, low cost, and suitable for large scale.•The SiC NWs have chain-bead, bamboo-shaped and linear SiC/SiO2 core-shell structures.•The SiC NWs have excellent blue-green photoluminescence properties.
