Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is the most common leukemia in adults in Western countries. It is a disease of elderly with a median age at diagnosis of 72 years. The clinical course is heterogeneous, with some patients have rapidly progressive disease while others have CLL for decades without requiring therapy.
