Biotransformation of 5´-O-β-d-galactosyl-floxuridine by immobilized β-galactosidase from Kocuria rhizophila

•Kocuriarhizophila β-galactosidase was successfully stabilized in Ca-alginate.•The immobilized biocatalyst was able to synthesize5´-O-β-d-Galactosyl-floxuridine.•The 5´-O-β-d-Galactosyl-floxuridinewas obtained at 7 h with an 80% of yields.•The immobilized biocatalyst was stable during 16 successive reactions (112 h).
