SOLPS 5.0 simulations of the inner divertor detachment of L-mode plasmas in ASDEX Upgrade with convection-dominated radial SOL transport

摘要
•Detached HFS divertor conditions modelled in ASDEX upgrade L-mode plasmas by SOLPS 5.0 with a convection-dominated radial ion transport model.•Spatial extent of HFS high-ne front above X-point simulated in agreement with measurements due to its decreased diffusive leakage into the core.•Increase of neutral D2 fuelling to experimental levels allowed by the decreased ion fuelling of the core from the HFS divertor.•Detachment observed as decrease of target ion flux and roll-over of integrated target ion urrent.•Simulated sub-divertor neutral fluxes within 30% of measurements.
