Effects of buildings’ refurbishment on indoor air quality. Results of a wide survey on radon concentrations before and after energy retrofit interventions

•A survey on a sample of 154 buildings was carried out.•The survey considers radon measures before and after energy retrofit.•A statistical analysis of results was accomplished.•Results underline the need of considering energy saving and indoor air quality at the same time.
