Abstract
•The REF3&903·nH2O and (H3O)RE3F10&903·nH2O compounds were synthesized from RE2S3 and HF.•The REF3&903·nH2O compounds have an amorphous phase.•After heat treatment the REF3&903·nH2O and (H3O)RE3F10&903·nH2O compounds moved into a REF3 compound of crystal structure as β-YF3.
