Abstract
Breast pathology is mainly benign or related to lactational reorganizations. Functional signs, clinical and ultrasound examination are the basis of the diagnosis. Lesions are most of the time local anomalies of the lactacting breast, benign tumours linked to pregnancy or breastfeeding, but also all diseases of the breast occurring in women at the same age outside of this context. Ultrasound is the most accurate technique to characterize lesions, allowing their classification according to the Breast Imaging-Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) atlas; in the slightest doubt biopsy and/or mammography are required. Malignancy is rare but clinicalor imaging evidence is present most of the time, allowing the diagnosis. (C) 2017 Published by Elsevier Masson SAS.
