Actual periodic health checks for children – selected issues

Minister of Health regulation on the range of the treatment rules the type and deadlines of population research in screening tests for children aged 0-19. This obliges the primary doctors to follow the disposition by their activities. Recommendations and standards, and realization of procedures for doctors and nurses were analyzed in the aspect of prevention treatment of healthy children. Organizational structure and the rules of this treatment were highlighted. Obligatory calendar of population research and periodic health checks were discussed. Actual standards of a prevention visit as well as its structure, type of population screening tests, dividing competence between doctors and nurses in the aspect of different age groups were presented. Proposed model of the visit was confirmed to be useful and clear in actual standards of periodic health checks. Except this, the aspects were highlighted, which have an important influence on quality of prevention programs, its efficiency in finding irregularities and defining health problems and realization of doctor's recommendations. They involve poorly realized or even skipped such elements of each visit in prevention children's treatment as: promotion of a standard of efficient and satisfactory communications doctor-patient and doctor-parents of a child, cooperation with child's parents for its benefit and constant education of parents in the issues of development age medicine according to the range of age of a patient and character of the visit.
