Abstract
Diagnosis of rejection in heart transplantation is based on pathology grading of endomyocardial biopsies (EMB) for T-cell-mediated (TCMR) and antibody-mediated (ABMR) rejections, despite reproducibility issues across centers and uncertain clinical correlations. By analyzing banked samples, we found that a microarray-based approach developed on kidney transplant biopsies (Molecular Microscope Diagnostic System (MMDx)) may also provide accurate disease classification in EMB. The purpose of this study is to correlate MMDx and pathology findings with clinical phenotype in a prospective series of EMBs collected as part of the multicenter INTERHEART study (NCT02670408).
