This paper describes the fabrication of a matched logarithmic spiral antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) applications able to operate in a frequency band of 1 GHz to 10 GHz. Based on the antenna simulation results, in particular its input impedance, a matching network model was performed in order to achieve at the same time the transformation of a balanced to unbalanced system (balun), a return loss greater than 10 dB and an input impedance of 50 Ω. Finally, the simulated data of the antenna - adapter integration and the measurement results were compared, for which a great degree of accordance was found.
