Abstract
Background: Dermokine was first identified as a gene that is expressed in keratinocytes. There are four dermokine isoform families of which the β and γ isoforms are known to be specifically expressed in upper epidermis. Our recent analyses showed that dermokine levels are increased in inflammatory skin disorders including psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. However, the detailed functions in vivo remain elusive.
