•Geochemical, zircon U-Pb dating and Hf isotopic data were conducted.•The Fushui intrusion was formed at ~500Ma related to subduction of Shangdan oceanic lithosphere.•Rocks were derived from <10% partial melting of phlogopite-garnet lherzolite.
