The Genus Tentyria (Latreille, 1802) in Doñana National Park (Southern Iberian Peninsula) with Descriptions of Two New Species (Insecta: Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae)

The species of the genus Tentyria Latreille, 1802 are one of the most representative soil beetles in Donana National Park, natural area of invaluable ecological value in terms of diversity. This research is aimed to study the representation of the genus Tentyria in Donana, consisting in four well distinguishable species: T. platyceps Steven, 1829, T. subcostata Solier 1835 and two new species to science, T. donanensis sp. nov. and T. bifida sp. nov., which are described on this paper. The four species are morphologically compared and data about their phenology, distribution and abundance in the research area are also given. A lectotype is designated for T. subcostata and a new synonymy is proposed: T. emarginata Kraatz, 1865 = T. subcostata, Solier, 1835. We also propose that T. marocana Solier, 1835 and T. maura Erichson, 1841 (=T. acuminipennis Lucas, 1855) must to be considered valid species instead of synonymies of T. subcostata. A key to species of Tentyria from Donana National Park is also included.
