Abstract
Gesause National Park, Austria's youngest national park, was established in 2002. The protected area covers 113 km(2) and is characterized by its main habitats of rock, alpine meadows, forests and aquatic habitats. High relief intensity shapes the scenery. Between 2003 to 2013, induced by the conservation authorities, 366 authors created a total of 309 research reports. The main focus is on management-relevant research topics as well as on vertebrates and higher plants within the forests.
