Abstract
The semiconductor Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS), was synthesized by reacting CuO, ZnO, and SnO with ethanolamine, 2-methoxyethanol, and thioglycolic acid. Anatase TiO2 particle was dispersed into the CZTS precursor solution, so that TiO2/CZTS heterojunction was created through the nucleation of CZTS onto the TiO2 surface. The photocatalytic efficiencies of TiO2/CZTS heterojunction samples with different TiO2:CZTS ratios were then investigated. The photocatalytic efficiency of TiO2/CZTS heterojunction sample was found to be superior to those of CZTS and the efficiency decreased with an increase in the TiO2:CZTS ratio. The highest efficiency, obtained from the 1:1 sample, was about 1.7 times that of P-25.
