Design Of Trisection Bandpass Filter Based On Elliptic-Function Filter
MICROWAVE AND OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY LETTERS(2016)
Abstract
This article presents the design and realization of a new bandpass filter (BPF) fabricated on multilayered substrates. The proposed BPF schematic is based on the traditional elliptic-function filter schematic. The novel schematic features a specific parallel section, which grants the new schematic the ability in reducing the undesirable value of inductors in serial arms of the conventional elliptic BPF circuit schematic. As an illustrative example, a prototype BPF with 800 MHz center frequency is designed and fabricated. The measured stop-band rejection is better than 45 dB up to 2 GHz, and a relatively narrow bandwidth is obtained. The measured result agrees very well with the electromagnetic (EM) designed response.
