The effects of Aa, Bm, Sp on the production of IL8 and TNFα from human periodontal ligament cells

Aim:To observe the effects of Aa, Bm, Sp on the production of IL8 and TNFα from human periodontal ligament cells. Methods: Human periodontal ligament cells were cultured in vitro and stimulated with three different kinds of bacterium. The levels of IL8 and TNFα in culture supernatants were detected by ELISA method. Results: The human periodontal ligament cells could secret low levels of IL8 and TFNα when they were stimulated by the three different kinds of bacterium, but there was no significant difference among these three kinds of bacterium. Conclusions: Human periodontal ligament cells may play roles in local immune response by releasing cytokines.
